MONDAY’S TO WEDNESDAY’S ARE HAPPY F##K1N DAYS AT MAX’S BAR

MONDAY TO WEDNESDAY

Since 1845

73 Queen Street in Glasgow has a rich history dating back to 1845 when it first operated as Lang’s, a licensed restaurant famous for its wide selection of food, wines, and cigars. Over the years, the venue transformed, becoming the Rock Garden in the 1980s, a popular spot known for live music. In the 1990s, it was rebranded as RG’s for legal reasons. The venue has hosted notable acts, including The Clash during their 1985 Busking Tour.

Max’s Bar opened in 2009, cementing 73 Queen Street as an iconic part of Glasgow’s cultural and social scene.

"The smoke and coffee rooms at Lang's were also stocked with gentlemen from the nearby offices in the city, all the daily newspapers were freely available"

"This popular Queen Street pub was originally called the Rock Garden, it's name was shortened to R G's for legal reasons as there is a well known Rock Garden outside of Glasgow"
